AI Captions Maker · Last updated: 1 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Kharoshka Mikita (“Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), an individual developer based in the Republic of Belarus, handles information in connection with the mobile application AI Captions Maker (the “App”).
The App is developed and published by Kharoshka Mikita, an individual developer located in the Republic of Belarus. For any privacy question, write to support@codiee.dev.
When you add a video, iOS shows you the system photo picker. The App receives only the single item you pick — it has no access to the rest of your photo library, and it does not ask for one.
The video you pick is copied into the App's own private storage on your device, together with the transcript, the caption style and the layout. That copy is what the editor works on. Nothing in it is uploaded anywhere. Exported videos are written to a temporary folder on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet; where they go from there is your choice, and the App is not involved in it.
Turning speech into captions normally happens entirely on your iPhone, using a recognition model that runs on the device. The audio is not sent to us or to anyone else.
The model itself is downloaded once, on first use, from huggingface.co, where it is published by Argmax. That download is a plain file transfer: it carries no audio, no video and no information about you beyond the ordinary network metadata any download involves.
| Who | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | Your purchase, processed through the App Store | To take payment and manage the subscription. We never see your payment details. |
| Apphud | An install identifier, device identifiers, your App Store receipt and subscription events | To know whether your subscription is active, to restore purchases, and to serve the offer |
| Mixpanel | Usage events (screens opened, offers shown, purchases completed), an identifier, app version, device model, OS version and country | To understand how the App is used and what to fix |
Apphud and Mixpanel act as processors for us. Their own policies are here: Apphud, Mixpanel. Mixpanel data for this App is processed on Mixpanel's EU infrastructure.
The App asks for permission to track using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow it, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is shared with Apphud so that an install can be attributed to the advertising campaign it came from. If you decline, no advertising identifier is used and everything in the App keeps working exactly as before. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Your projects, transcripts and styles live in the App's private container on your device. Deleting a project removes its files; deleting the App removes all of them. We have no copy and no way to recover them for you.
Purchase and usage records held by Apphud and Mixpanel are retained for as long as they are needed for the purposes above, in line with those companies' own retention practices. Data in transit is protected by TLS.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, write to support@codiee.dev and we will delete what we can.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data held about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because the App has no account, the data we can act on is what Apphud and Mixpanel hold against your install identifier. Write to support@codiee.dev and we will act on your request within the time the applicable law allows.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are the performance of a contract with you (delivering the subscription you bought), our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the App, and your consent where the ATT prompt applies.
The App is available worldwide. The processors named above operate infrastructure outside your country, so your information may be processed elsewhere, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses those companies publish.
If this Policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the new version is published here before it takes effect.
