Privacy Policy
What Smart Things does with your information, which is very little.

The short version. Smart Things has no account, no server and no analytics. Nothing about your home, your accessories, your televisions or your photos is sent to us or to anyone else. Everything the app knows stays on your device.
Your home
The app reads and controls your accessories through Apple's HomeKit, after you grant Home access in iOS Settings. HomeKit data belongs to you and to Apple's framework; we never receive it, store it or transmit it. Revoking Home access in Settings stops the app seeing anything at once.
Your televisions
The app looks for televisions on your local network and speaks to them directly, on your network only. Nothing about that traffic reaches us.
When a television requires pairing, the credential it issues is kept on your device so the next connection does not ask again. Deleting the app deletes it.
Your photos
If you choose a photo as a room wallpaper, the app receives that single image through Apple's photo picker and keeps a downscaled copy on your device. The app is never given access to your photo library as a whole, and the image is not uploaded anywhere.
Your settings
Wallpapers, accents, room assignments and preferences are stored on your device. Some are stored in a shared container so the widgets can read them; that container is on your device and readable only by this app and its widgets.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier and no tracking of any kind in this version of the app. We do not know how many people use it or what they do in it.
If you write to us
Email reaches an ordinary mailbox. We see what you send, including anything you attach or quote, and we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you. If you use the in-app bug report, it pre-fills your app version, iOS version and device model — you can see and delete that text before sending, because it is your email, not ours.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Changes
If a future version adds anything that collects data — purchases and analytics are the likely candidates — this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
