Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
This policy describes how the Walker: Pedometer App iPhone app handles information. The app is published by Mikita Kharoshka ("we", "us").
The short version
- There is no account. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Your steps, workouts, routes and weight stay on your iPhone. They are never uploaded to us.
- Location is used only while a GPS workout is running.
- Purchases go through Apple. A subscription service, Apphud, receives purchase and technical data — not your identity or your activity.
- There are no ads, and the app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What stays on your device
The following is kept locally and is never transmitted to us:
- Activity — steps, distance and floors climbed read from your iPhone's motion sensors, and the daily history the app builds from them.
- Workouts — type, time, distance, pace, splits and the GPS route of every workout you record.
- Your settings — the daily step goal, the body weight you enter (used only to estimate calories), haptics and similar preferences.
- Progress — streaks, records, medals and your level.
- Streak freezes — the number you have and the purchases already credited. These are kept in the iOS Keychain so that reinstalling the app doesn't lose or duplicate them; they contain counts and purchase transaction numbers, nothing else.
Widgets read a small summary of today's and this week's steps that the app writes into storage shared only between the app and its own widgets. Deleting the app removes everything above except the Keychain item with the streak freeze count.
Permissions the app asks for
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Motion & Fitness | To count your steps, distance and floors. The data is read on the device and stays there. |
| Location (while using the app) | Only to map your route and measure distance and pace during a workout you start. It keeps recording with the screen locked until you end the workout, and iOS shows the location indicator while it does. Location is never used outside a workout. |
The app does not ask for, and does not use, your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or Health data.
Maps
Route maps are drawn with Apple Maps. To show them, your iPhone requests map imagery for the area of the route from Apple, which handles it under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive your routes.
Purchases
Pedometer Pro, streak freezes and streak repairs are sold through the App Store and processed by Apple. We never see or handle your payment details.
We use Apphud (Apphud Inc.) to check whether a subscription is active, to deliver purchases and to show the right offer. Apphud receives technical and purchase data: device model, operating system and app version, language and country, an identifier Apphud generates for your installation, your purchase and subscription history, and which offer screens were shown. It does not receive your name, email address, steps, workouts or location. See the Apphud privacy policy.
Sharing
When you share a workout, the app draws the share card on your iPhone and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes is up to you; nothing is sent to us.
Advertising and tracking
The app shows no ads, does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of data relating to you, and to object to certain processing. Almost everything the app knows about you is on your iPhone and is yours to delete. For the purchase data held by Apphud, write to us and we will have it deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version is published on this page with a new date at the top.
