AI Notes: Voice to Text

Nothing here answering it? Write to codiee.development@gmail.com and say which iPhone and which iOS version you are on. Replies usually come the same day.

Recording

The app is not hearing me

Open Settings → AI Notes on your iPhone and check that Microphone is on. If it is, close the app fully and open it again — another app holding the microphone, usually a call, can keep it.

Can I record a phone call?

No. iOS does not let any app record calls, and this one is no exception.

What happens if I lock the screen?

Recording carries on. Come back to the app to stop it and keep the note.

Words on screen

Why is there no live text?

Live text needs a language model that is not part of the app — it is about 460 MB, and it is downloaded once, from the banner at the top of the Notes screen. Until then notes are still transcribed, just after you stop rather than while you speak.

It says live text is not available in this language

That message comes from Apple's own speech recognition, which supports a short list of languages and needs each one downloaded. The 460 MB model above does not have that limit — it handles every language it was trained on without being told which one you are speaking.

The transcript got a word wrong

Recognition runs entirely on the phone, and on-device recognition is worse than the kind that sends your voice to a server. That is the trade this app makes on purpose. Speaking a little closer to the phone and away from a fan or an open window helps more than anything else.

Summaries and tasks

My summaries are shorter than I expected

The richest summaries are written by Apple Intelligence, which needs iOS 26 on a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence switched on. Without it the app still produces a summary, key points and tasks — worked out from the transcript itself rather than written by a model. The note tells you which one it used.

It missed a task I mentioned

Tasks are found from what you actually said. "I need to call the bank" is caught; "the bank, maybe" is not. Saying it as an instruction makes it far more reliable.

Subscription

What is free?

The first notes you make are free, in full — recording, transcript, summary and tasks. AI Notes PRO removes the limit on how many you can make. Everything you have already recorded stays yours either way, with or without PRO.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → AI Notes, then Cancel. It is also linked from Settings → Manage subscription inside the app. Cancelling stops the next payment; the subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for.

I paid and it still says I have not

Tap Restore purchases in the app's settings, on the same Apple Account you paid with. If it still does not come back, send us the date of the purchase and we will sort it out.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us too if something went wrong; it is usually a bug we would want to fix.

Your recordings

Where are they kept?

On your iPhone, inside the app. They are not uploaded anywhere.

Will they be in my iCloud backup?

Yes, if you back up your iPhone to iCloud — the same as any other app's files. That backup is Apple's, and encrypted.

How do I delete one?

Swipe it away in the Notes list, or open it and use Delete in the menu. The recording and its transcript go with it, and deleting the app removes everything at once.
