Common questions

The scan finds nothing, or the numbers look too small

• Check that the app has access to your whole photo library: iOS Settings → Apps → Cleanup → Photos → Full Access. With Limited Access the app only sees the photos you picked, so the totals cover just those.
• Contacts and Calendar are separate permissions. Each tab asks for its own, and the card on the main screen tells you which one is missing.
• A first scan of a large library takes a while. Leave the app open until the header stops saying Scanning….

Where do the deleted photos and videos go?

To Recently Deleted in the Photos app, exactly as if you had deleted them there. iOS keeps them for about 30 days, so you can get them back — and the space is only truly freed once that album is emptied.

Deleted contacts and calendar events, though?

Those go immediately. iOS keeps no recycle bin for them, which is why the app asks for a confirmation first. If your contacts sync with iCloud or Google, the deletion syncs too.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The scan runs on your device, and your photos, contacts and events never leave it. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

What does compression do to my videos?

It re-encodes a copy at 720p or 540p and, once that succeeds, removes the original — so the video stays in your library, smaller. The app shows how much each video would save before you start. Compression is the PRO feature; everything else is free.

I bought PRO but compression is still locked

Open the paywall and tap Restore. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still does not unlock, email us with the date of purchase.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, select Cleanup and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period stays active until it ends.

How do I request deletion of my data?

The app stores nothing about you on our side, so there is normally nothing to delete. If you have written to us and want that correspondence removed, email us from the same address and we will handle it.
